Would a short, calm session help you get started?

We are happy to explain how each session works before you decide anything. A written enquiry is fine. So is a telephone conversation during our open hours.

Questions People Ask Before Enquiring

Straightforward answers. Nothing here is personal advice.

What does "document organisation" actually mean here?
It means knowing which papers exist in your household, where to find copies of them, and how to store them so they are accessible when an institution asks for them. It does not mean interpreting what any document requires of you — that is a question for a lawyer, a financial adviser, or another qualified professional.
Is this legal or financial advice?
No. Gentle Bridge provides general education on document organisation, record-keeping and written communication. We do not offer personalised legal, financial, counselling or social-work advice. Each session includes a referral sheet naming the appropriate qualified professionals for substantive questions.
Who comes to the First Steps Documents Session?
Adults who feel they need a calm starting point rather than a long programme. Often people going through a separation or a major household change, or relatives supporting someone who is. The session is written for people who may be under strain and are not sure where to begin with paperwork.
How long does the six-week course take each week?
Two hours per week, in groups of up to eight participants. We keep groups small so the facilitator can give individual attention to the clarity of each person's writing, not to the content of their situation.
What does the institutional consulting engagement cover?
It is an operational engagement for organisations whose front-desk or administrative staff receive sensitive family information. We map existing intake practice, redesign forms and scripts, train staff on receiving information calmly without advising on it, and build an escalation and referral directory with the client's own qualified professionals. It runs four to six months and produces a written closing report.
Are fees payable in advance?
Session fees are payable before the session date. Course fees for the six-week programme may be split into two equal payments. Institutional consulting is invoiced in stages agreed in writing at the start of the engagement. Please ask us about the payment schedule when you enquire.
